When it comes to catching “the big ones”, Master Baiter’s Sportfishing fleet knows of what they speak. We are the only fishing store that holds:
In 1997 John and Captain Steve won 1st & 3rd prize in Puerto Vallarta’s Marlin Tournament, hosted by the Puerto Vallarta Fishing Club.
In 1999 we won 1st place Sailfish and in 2000 won 1st place Sailfish, Dorado (Mahi-Mahi) & teams in the Barra de Navidad Sailfish tournaments, receiving new cars.
In the Puerto Vallarta 1999 tournament we won 1st place Tuna with a whopping 275 pounder and 2nd place Dorado (Mahi-Mahi).
In 2000 we took most prices in the tournament to crown “World Billfish Series Grand Champions” hosted by the W.B.S. Captain Steve on the “High Maintenance” took the prizes for Top Boat, Top Release Angler (John Gabruk) & 1st place Angler (Harris Garner). Captain Steve has a passion for fishing, one that cannot be taught. It’s not acceptable for our crew not to catch the most & largest fish everyday!
In 2004 we got 2nd place in Puerto Vallarta Sailfish Tournament
In 2006 we got first place for Yellowfin Tuna in the International Tournament in Puerto Vallarta
We have our store in Puerto Vallarta, Downtown (Across from Mc Donalds at the Boardwalk).

OUR FISHING CHARTERS
Depending on where you want to go & what you want to catch will determine the charter price, please see "our boats" page for details. We are very competitive price wise but there aren't any boats that come even close to our quality, and experience.
We specialize in BIG FISH, there are yellowfin tuna to 400 pounds plus here, and the average marlin caught by us in Puerto Vallarta is aprox. 500 pounds.
Most Charter boats charge 1 fee and keep you in very close to the shore where there are no big fish, there has been 1 marlin caught within the bay in the last 7 years. WE DON'T DO THAT! Also, our boats get out to the 36 miles mark in 1 1/2 hours approx. as opposed to most others that take 2 1/2 hours, it makes a huge difference when you are talking about an 8 hour fishing day (Even if the boat can go faster they won't).
Our equipment is excellent, Shimano (much better drag system than Penn for Big FISH, in our opinion) We spend the extra money on the Fluoro Carbon leader that is completely invisible under the water (35 dollars a pop) and we change it every time a billfish touches it because it rashes the line.
We use exclusively Izorline fishing line and change it regularly because when you don't change fishing line it gets stressed. So, when you get a big fish on you will never get it in because stressed line it will break.
Our Captains have the passion for fishing, you know the one, the one you can't teach. Either they have it or they don't. Our Captains have it. It is unacceptable for them not to catch the most daily. We specialize in Big Tuna and we hold the record for the largest in PV (382 pounds). We have the only place to hang fish to take photos, the only freezing service so you can take it home, we offer smoking your catch and we are almost the only ones who will let you have your catch. You did pay the boat & catch the fish, why shouldn't it be yours? We do mostly live bait fishing, hence the name MASTER BAITER´S. On most boats once the bait's gone you are out of luck. We don't do that. We have a Tackle Store so, we have everything needed in the way of lures, hooks, stand up harnesses etc. on our boats, hundreds of items! This way no matter what the fish are looking to eat that day, we have several in our arsenal.
